Two weeks ago my very good friend Monique and I headed down to Las Cruces to celebrate our other good friend Erin's wedding. Monique, Erin, and I have been friends now for five years since starting our MSW program together. I can't believe it's already been that long! With a small cohort we immediately knew we would be a great support for each other, and we quickly found we had so much in common. Being in class together nearly five days a week with many long nights spent on projects for two years, we naturally grew very close, and though it's not as often now as we would like, we try to make time to see each other whenever we can.

We had a great time lounging by the pool (except for getting badly sunburned!) and it was so great to see Erin and Justin so happy together.

It was so nice to get out of town for a girl's weekend. Even better, Joel was already in Las Vegas so it was nice to have a trip of my own, although me and Vesper did miss him! This classically conditioned pup got so excited one night when she heard the "beep beep beep" of our alarm system, signaling a door opened. It was around Joel's usual time to get home, and it was just me opening a window, but the poor pup sat and anxiously awaited him to walk through the door.
I guess we both missed him, but it was a great trip and I can't wait for Erin, Monique and I to have even more adventures in this next chapter of our lives.
