Agility Training

Hi Friends! My mom and dad are out looking at another house, so I'm here catching up on my rest and blogging after graduating from agility training! It didn't seem like it at first, but I really have learned a lot since I started six weeks ago.

We started with jumping and weaving between bars set at various heights. After just 3 tries I had it down perfectly! It was my mom who had trouble remembering which foot to step with first and which hand to give me my reward from. And I LOVE LOVE LOVe running through the tunnel. I was scared at first but now it's one of my favorite things to do.

We finished the day with jumping through the tire, running through the tunnel, and jumping over a high bar. I can't wait to start my next class and hopefully an agility trial when I get a little older. We are still learning but my mom says I'm well on way to becoming an agility champ! Maybe next year I'll look like these Springers!

I jumped through a hoop similar to this one

My dad says my ears flopped just like this pup's when I jumped over the bar, but my mom didn't get to see since she was too busy guiding me to the finish!

Happy Moments

How is it August already? While I'm anxiously awaiting our Alaska trip and some much needed time off, I don't think we are quite ready for summer to end. Here's some of our highlights!

The Albuquerque Wine Festival at Balloon Fiesta Park over Memorial Day Weekend was so much fun! It's been hit or miss at the wine festivals the past couple of years, each year I vow we will never go again, but I think I mix up the Albuquerque Wine Fest with the Bernalillo one. This one at Balloon Fiesta Park was definitely better, we arrived early (before the vatos had woken up from their hangovers), and there were hardly any lines at all, we were easily able to taste from almost every booth in 2-3 hours. We will be back next year with a picnic basket and bottle opener in tow.

A Puppy's Take on House Hunting

Hi Friends!
I had to take a break from chasing birds and running around the living room in circles to tell you about all the activity going on in our house! My mom and dad have been doing all kinds of things around the house, and they keep promising to take me to the park as soon as they're are finished. Hmmmmphhhh! I want to go to the park now! When my mom is busy painting and tries to give me toys to play with I just give her my saddest puppy eyes...
Works every time.

Besides painting, my mom and dad have been cleaning like crazy, which I really don't get the point of, since in 2 minutes I will roll around in the dirt and mud that has become our backyard with all the rain and just get the floor dirty again anyway. There's also been lots of bins and boxes everywhere, and of course investigating and smelling everything that is going into them is well within my duties as princess of the house.

I'm not really sure where we are going to be living in the next few months, but my mom tells me everything will be ok and not to worry as long as Mom, Dad, and us black and whites are together. Although if I had my pick, I would pick the house with the best backyard.

My mom and dad are seeing this one this weekend so I hope they like it. I know I like the grass!

Fish to catch in a pond! That would keep me entertained all day!

I could see us here relaxing after a long day of playing

Although this spot at the Washington house  looks pretty cozy too. I get a front yard and back yard with this one.

A deck and grass?! What more could a puppy ask for? There's even a built in sandbox to keep the future babies entertained while I guard them. Dad says this house needs a new air conditioner, but it will be fall by the time we hopefully move so we can just enjoy the great fall weather and not worry about AC till next year!
The Princeton house yard comes with 15 baby turtles! Investigating them would be great fun, but my dad says I will get salmonella from this yard so I guess we aren't moving here.
Until they decide to consult me I guess I will just have to trust Mom and Dad pick the best house for us. Until then I will try to be on my best behavior and not get the new carpet dirty.

Alaska Bound

So after a few months of debating back and forth and trying to decide where (and if) we could do a trip, we decided to book an Alaskan Cruise. This is my first cruise and our first trip to Alaska, and I can't wait! We are leaving from Seattle and then cruising through Glacier National Park, and porting in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Victoria, and back to Seattle. Everything we have heard about Alaska has been wonderful, and I can't wait to see the glaciers calving (falling) from our very own balcony!

Going from planning a vacation at an all inclusive resort, where literally everything is included, to planning a cruise has been somewhat of a sticker shock. Everything is extra! But I know the excursions will definitly be worth it, we are planning on on hiking a glacier, taking a train through mountain passes, whale watching, and maybe even sledding with the sled dogs or kayaking. On our way back we will get to spend a whole day in Seattle, and I'm excited to see all the famous sites, especially Pike's Place.

As our trip is now fast approaching I will need to have enough time to pack. Highs in Alaska in September will probably be in the upper 50's, maybe 60's, and with the gray skys and being off the water it has been recommended we bundle up in layers.  I was so excited to get some great deals on outdoor wear. I can't wait to wear boots again and snuggle into some warm sweaters too!

REI Fleece Hoodie on Sale $18
This insulated jacket was originally $279, got it on sale for $99
In honor of throwback Thursday, here's a pic from the last time we were bundled up, although this time the scenery won't be a massive desert sand dune!

Snuggled up for the 24 degree chill!

Even this pup doesn't mind the cold!
