So after a few months of debating back and forth and trying to decide where (and if) we could do a trip, we decided to book an Alaskan Cruise. This is my first cruise and our first trip to Alaska, and I can't wait! We are leaving from Seattle and then cruising through Glacier National Park, and porting in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Victoria, and back to Seattle. Everything we have heard about Alaska has been wonderful, and I can't wait to see the glaciers calving (falling) from our very own balcony!
Going from planning a vacation at an all inclusive resort, where literally everything is included, to planning a cruise has been somewhat of a sticker shock. Everything is extra! But I know the excursions will definitly be worth it, we are planning on on hiking a glacier, taking a train through mountain passes, whale watching, and maybe even sledding with the sled dogs or kayaking. On our way back we will get to spend a whole day in Seattle, and I'm excited to see all the famous sites, especially Pike's Place.
As our trip is now fast approaching I will need to have enough time to pack. Highs in Alaska in September will probably be in the upper 50's, maybe 60's, and with the gray skys and being off the water it has been recommended we bundle up in layers. I was so excited to get some great deals on outdoor wear. I can't wait to wear boots again and snuggle into some warm sweaters too!

In honor of throwback Thursday, here's a pic from the last time we were bundled up, although this time the scenery won't be a massive desert sand dune!
